Greetings, Oikocentrites! (I’ll bet you never thought you’d be called that!) 

I wanted to let you know about some exciting developments in the world of oikos.

First of all, we’ve been receiving great reports from around the world about the difference that the oikos concept is making in people’s lives.  Oikos is not a program, but a perspective, a different way to look at life, and it is revolutionizing the way many people see their church.  I’ve had a wonderful opportunity to meet many pastors and church leaders who are impressed with the simplicity of this strategy- how Jesus taught the church to change the world.  A number of churches have benefited from our two-day oikos training weekend.

Last month, Sheryl and I had the chance to travel to Korea at the invitation of a number of pastors who wanted to know more about oikos.  When we arrived, we thought we'd be speaking to several hundred pastors and leaders but, the way it turned out, 5800 ended up attending the presentations, many from some of the most dynamic and largest churches in the world.  There is an amazing interest in oikos in South Korea and we’ve been invited back in April ’10 to continue the journey with our new Korean friends!

I also wanted you to let you know that in response to your requests, we’ve assembled a small-group training Curriculum, we call “Worldchange University.”  It includes copies of the Oikos Book, Small Group Discussion Guides, Oikos Prayer Cards and a DVD with four video challenges and personal video testimonies - all to provide your friends and church family a compelling four-week oikos small group experience.
